Stone Ridge Advisors offers all our clients annual tax-planning as part of our standard engagement. We don't replace your tax preparer but rather we complement their services by looking forward multiple years for opportunities to save money, while their work is usually focused on the previous year.
We start by running a detailed analysis of your most recent Federal income tax return looking for low-hanging fruit. During this process we sometimes uncover filing errors and opportunities to save money. We then start thinking about more strategic ways to lower your tax bill over multiple years. If you are contemplating any major life changes including the sale of a business or home, we can examine the tax impact. If you are close to retirement, we can project the potential benefit of Roth conversions.
